Welcome to my blog, my name is Jasmine I am 23 years old, a recent graphic design graduate. I am a freelance graphic designer and photographer and I have absence epilepsy. I am also a Young Rep for Young Epilepsy and A Media Volunteer for Epilepsy Action. This blog is for people to relate to, hopefully find some advice and to raise awareness about the condition.
I was diagnosed with absence epilepsy at the age of 11, all I remember is being very confused, scared and having no clue what epilepsy was. Not aware of the battle I had a ahead of me. This then lead me to become very anxious started of mild, being wary of social situations, school and loosing my confidence.
However it gets better! I started a new medication at 15 years old which successfully controlled my seizures and lead to my confidence growing. I went to a new school for sixth form, having the best to years of my life as I felt like a ‘normal person again’.
My goal for this blog is for at least one person to benefit from this blog. This could be someone who experiences the condition, or if you have a friend or family member it could give them a better understanding of the condition. And importantly raising awareness about epilepsy.
To the left you can check out some of my recent videos and interview I have done with Young epilepsy.
